Love the green fabric...had it a long time.
I would never had put pink/teal/olive green together but they did, just wonderful.
This block was what the quilt was going to look like but I wasn't happy with it. So this will be a pillow. The quilt will be like the first photo on top, more happy with the way that came out. Mind you I almost had like 5 blocks done then ripped them out to get them right. :)
Have had these fabrics for awhile, I think they go good together. So I'm making a light quilt for spring/summer. Someone in the family will get this one, being that I'm not that great and still practicing I have to give it to someone and keep going on the next one. Am also still working on Marc/lilly christmas gift that should be done soon. Everyday I learn more and more from reading the blogs I love, now those are very experienced quilters and have the equipement to do so. I'm a novice here but am doing my best. Being that I have a growing family, by making them each a couple of quilts and other stuff at the end they will always have it long after I'm gone. Just the same as I have my mom's tablecloths, crocheted doilies which she did just a beautiful job on those. I will look for those and post them on here so you can see her work.

Mari came to visit me today for just a few hours. Tim drove her all the way from San Fransico to come and see me. She will going back to east coast on Sunday. I was so happy to see her and so sad to see her go. We have not seen each other since April almost a year. She is my youngest and I miss her so already. We took them to the One Mile pool, Yo-Yo museum of the world and last but not least the famous Sierra Nevada Brewery all here in Chico,ca. Tim made the best chicken enchilladas that we have had from scrath. A bit spicy but oh so good. Thank you both for your visit and the weather was perfect. So sorry Mari has to go back to the east coast to the cold brrrr.

Well today I was very happy at work. One of the residents where I work at just decided she was getting rid of some of her craft stuff, guess who lucked out :)
I just jumped all over that and this is what I got plus the little stand for the threads. This stand is wood and my other one is metal.

My memory garden for those we have lost. This year we added 3 more rose bushes in memory of My adopted son Raul, My cat tigree, and the best sister-in-law in the world Raquel. They will be in our hearts forever.
Can not believe we are already in the year 2009. I remember when we were all nervous of 2000 coming, thinking all our computers were going to crash and so many other things at the set of 2000. Yes we did have bad and good stuff come with that year but now we are in 9yrs. later and some of us are still here and some have passed on. In our family and extended families we have lost friends and relatives and life goes on. We do send prayers to those we have lost and they will be remembered in our hearts with laughter and great stories cause we are sure that they would not have wanted us to remember them with tears of sadness but of joy. We raised our glasses to them and to us that are still here, God Bless Us All.
